Syllo was founded by a team of two litigation attorneys and two engineers out of Carnegie Mellon University. They began building Syllo in 2019, shortly after Google’s release of BERT and OpenAI’s release of GPT-2, two heralds of the recent advancements in generative artificial intelligence.

We founded Syllo in anticipation of advancements in natural language processing, with a focus on building the data infrastructure, workflows, and knowledge infrastructure into which language models are most powerfully woven. We iterated meticulously on those foundations to create what Syllo is today, an unparalleled litigation tool for collaboration, insight, and power in the AI era.

The Syllo leadership team is comprised of former litigators and experienced technologists who are deeply committed to delivering exceptional technology and services for the legal industry over the long term. We did not form Syllo for a quick exit—the litigation industry is our chosen home and vocation.
