Our Team
Who We Are
Conceived by litigators, built by the finest computer scientists and engineers. While clerking for an appellate court judge, the founders recognized that the legal technology applications available on the market were not designed with litigators in mind. Existing software did not aggregate all of the case information in the same place, did not allow attorneys to effectively search the case file, and did not include tools that allowed litigators to devise case strategy. After completing their clerkship, the founders went into private practice together and decided to create a workspace that was designed for litigators. They teamed up with software engineers from Carnegie Mellon to create a secure platform where attorneys could employ AI to alleviate the burden of litigation.
Jeffrey Chivers
CEO, Head of Product
Jeff co-founded Syllo in 2019 to build software for litigation that would dramatically improve the working lives of litigation attorneys and paralegals, and, by doing so, enable them to better and more broadly serve the administration of justice.

He previously clerked for the Honorable Pamela K. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and for the Honorable Thomas L. Ambro of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Jeff received a J.D. magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard College. Jeff has been a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School, where he has co-taught Artificial Intelligence, the Legal Profession, and Procedure. He also co-teaches Civil Procedure at Yale Law School, which teaches students procedure doctrine, introduces them to the latest advancements in technology, and explores how litigation procedure should evolve in response to advancements in AI. Jeff welcomes the opportunity to speak with law students, lawyers, professors, in-house counsel, and firm leaders about how artificial intelligence has and will continue to shape the practice of law.
